GCC partners with Malomatia to launch unified customs data platform

The new digital system will streamline trade, enhance security, and unify customs processes across the Gulf

The GCC Customs Union Authority has signed a contract with the Qatar-based digital solutions firm Malomatia to develop a unified central platform for exchanging customs data among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states.

The move marks a major step toward building an integrated digital infrastructure to enhance trade facilitation and customs collaboration across the region.

Driving digital transformation

The agreement is expected to serve as a foundation for modernising customs systems and enabling real-time, secure data sharing between national customs authorities.

The initiative supports a broader GCC vision of deepening regional economic integration and creating a more interconnected, agile trade ecosystem.

According to a statement by Malomatia, the platform will enable the immediate and secure exchange of customs data among GCC countries, helping streamline the flow of goods, accelerate clearance procedures, and bolster supply chain security.

It will also support risk analysis, regulatory compliance, and informed decision-making by providing accurate and timely data.

Secure and integrated solution

The platform is being developed with a focus on digital transformation and institutional integration, both of which are key to navigating the evolving complexities of global supply chains.

Dr Suleiman bin Masoud Al Ghafri, Executive Director of the GCC Customs Union Authority, described the platform as a critical pillar of the GCC’s broader strategic vision for customs unification.

“This project embodies the commitment of the GCC countries to building a unified and flexible customs system,” he said. “It supports Gulf customs integration and consolidates the region’s position as a cohesive economic bloc in trade and logistics at both regional and global levels.”

By enhancing electronic connectivity and coordination among customs authorities, the platform aims to increase operational efficiency and facilitate faster, more transparent trade.

Malomatia CEO Khalid bin Mohamed Al Kubaisi emphasised the company’s role in delivering a technologically advanced and secure system tailored to the region’s needs.

“The customs data exchange platform will offer integrated technical solutions that connect stakeholders, accelerate customs clearance, and ensure seamless data flow,” Al Kubaisi said. “Our goal is to support regional cooperation and foster economic growth through digital customs integration.”
